Title: “Rhyme Race”
Subject: English–Language Arts
Audience: Grades K–2
Format: Flash (Actionscript 3.0, Player 10.0+)
"Rhyme Race" is a four-player, fully interactive game designed to promote a better understanding of rhyming. Players make their way around the board by rolling the die and coming up with rhyming words.
If a player lands on a space whose color matches that of his or her game piece, the player is given an "Audio Rhyme," in which a sound recording of a word is played and the player must determine a word that rhymes with it. If a player lands on a purple space, he or she is given a "Picture Rhyme" clue, in which an image of a word is shown and the player must come up with a rhyming word. The first person to land in the end space wins!
The replay value of "Rhyme Race" is enhanced by the broad range of picture and audio clues it draws upon. Additional features include options to repeat an Audio Rhyme and to view a text hint for a Picture Rhyme.
